About
Horse – an embodiment of rare balance: strength and grace, will and trust, energy and tenderness coexist within her in perfect harmony.
A truly successful photograph does more than capture a horse’s appearance—it reveals her inner essence. It might be the elegant curve of her neck mid-leap, the powerful rhythm of her gallop across an open field, the noble calm of her resting pose, or a touching moment of connection with a human or her foal.
We invite participants to portray the horse in all the richness of her nature: proud in the wild, focused at work, gentle in closeness, or serene in solitude. Both spontaneous, candid shots and carefully composed artistic images are welcome—as long as the horse herself is palpably present in the frame. Not as background or prop, but as a living, breathing being with whom the viewer longs to make eye contact.
Accepted:
- Photographs in which the horse (or multiple horses) is the central subject of the image
- Both wild and domestic horses, captured in any setting: in nature, in a stable, in an arena, in the city, etc.
- Images including people are allowed, provided the horse remains the visual and narrative focal point of the composition
Not accepted:
- Photographs where the horse is absent or unintentionally out of focus (blurred, hidden in shadow, barely visible) without clear artistic intent
- Images in which the horse plays a secondary role to a person or another subject
- Images of toy horses, drawings, sculptures, digital illustrations, or any other non-living or unreal representations of horses
