About
We invite all photographers and animal lovers to participate in the photo contest “Pets in Nature”!
Nature is a space of freedom, instincts, play, and discovery.
We’re looking for shots where your beloved pet — whether it’s a cat, dog, ferret, parrot, or even a turtle — becomes the hero of a natural landscape: running across a meadow, pausing by a stream, gazing at a sunset, playing with fallen leaves, or simply dozing beneath a tree. Show us how domestic animals transition from the human world into the realm of nature — and how they behave when left alone with it.
Accepted entries:
- Domesticated animals — those bred and raised by humans as pets or companions: from cats and dogs to horses, goats, parrots, etc.
- Photos featuring either a single pet or multiple pets are welcome.
- Images where the pet is situated in a natural outdoor environment — park, forest, field, riverbank, mountains, meadow, garden, etc.
- Photos where the animal is immersed in nature — without human involvement in the scene. Humans may appear in the background as unfocused silhouettes only.
- Man-made elements are permitted, provided they don’t distract attention from the animal and its connection to nature.
- Stray representatives of domesticated species are acceptable.
- Any genre: portrait, photojournalism, documentary shot, staged photo — anything that captures the uniqueness of the moment.
- Photos taken with any equipment — from professional DSLRs to smartphones — are welcome.
Not accepted:
- Photos where the animal is not the conceptual and visual focal point of the composition.
- Wild animals — even if you feed them (squirrels, ducks, pigeons, foxes, raccoons, etc.) — are not eligible.
- Photos taken in controlled or commercial settings (zoos, attractions, enclosures, commercial leashes).
- Photos taken indoors, against artificial backdrops, in studios, or in urban environments (asphalt, buildings, crowds of people).
- Images where the animal is clearly stressed, uncomfortable, or placed in danger for the sake of the photo.
- Heavily edited images where nature or the animal itself has been fundamentally altered using AI, Photoshop, or filters.
